What are you reading for?

This started as an idea for an event. At that event, featured poets would talk about a book (in any genre) they’ve read recently and what purpose it served for them. In the live in-person format, the folks assembled could then talk about the book (if anyone else had read it) or talk about reasons for reading—what our goals are when we sit down with a book, what we are reading to learn or understand, be exposed to, move away from or towards.

In our newly remote world, I thought this could be an interesting format for writing, so I invited recent contributors to write responses to a book they’ve read recently.

What did you read it for?

Did you get what you expected?

Response will begin to appear here weekly starting Monday June 29.
